"Volume One: Dreaming" (V1:D) was borne of a vision, one in which a reclined human figure rests on a grassy hillside, serenely looking out across the valley as it disintegrates, feeling at one with the gentle breeze that ushers in the destruction of this world.
The music of V1:D tells the tale of how we became this enlightened figure on the hill. We open in the darkness within darkness, but with deliberate pace, an equable stage of existence takes seed; form is imbued upon the formless, and archaic existence evolves into archaic structure.
Consciousness emerges, giving rise to more pronounced manifestations of being. An eternal child, seen and described by countless prophets over the millennia, takes its first steps. The youngling processes its surroundings, and proclaims itself executor of heaven and earth. A defiant shriek proclaims its sovereignty and carves its niche within the tapestry of things.
As awareness evolves, newly-formed physical and mental constructs dissipate and are replaced by an integral vision. Energy fields stabilize and flow is achieved, before a transient plateau of acceptance is discovered. It is here that we rest, and look, and ponder, until next time...
V1:D was created during the years MMXXI & MMXXII, with philosophical imperatives, imaginings, and digital files being exchanged between the area near Canemah and the area near Stluputqu. During production, Γamonn was diagnosed with gastric cancer, adding a gnawing sense of immediacy to the project. Studio work now became shadowed by the memento mori that was daily existence. Production continued as he underwent chemotherapy and surgeries. During one particular period of dark and peace, he experienced a parsing of existence into several realms, and developed a tangible vision of how each of these realms can peacefully be relinquished in preparation for non-existence. This new understanding informed the project, and will continue to do so going forward.

And those who expected lightning and thunder
Are disappointed.
And those who expected signs and archangelsβ trumps
Do not believe it is happening now...
There will be no other end of the world,
There will be no other end of the world.

Music To Go Extinct To (MTGET) is Iosua and Γamonn.
Iosua (AKA J. Joshua Phillips) co-founded legendary Cascadian Black Metal entity Fauna, and previous to this created Echtra, which initiated the genre.
Γamonn (AKA Ted Munat) is an electronic music producer with a storied back catalogue, operating under the pseudonyms e.fada, Otto Rank, and Donna Trauma.
Iosua and Γamonn met in 2000 when both were undergraduates. They quickly began collaborating on multimedia projects, impromptu guerrilla theater, and momentary creations of alternative universes. They traveled to Γire (Ireland), spending months submerged in the rural and remote spaces of their shared ancestral homeland, deepening their bond with the land and each other as they sharpened their respective visions.
In the ensuing years, they went their separate ways: raising families, pursuing careers, and developing their respective psychospiritual orientations. Somewhere in the midst of the pandemic, they reconnected and decided to foster a musical collaboration that would provide a soundtrack for the final stages of the human experiment. Thus, Music To Go Extinct To was birthed.
MTGET is committed to creating several volumes, each entailing a foray into distinct and different sound palettes and musical genres, each reflecting a different (and necessary) capacity for a human organism faced with the possibility that this culture will annihilate itself. Naturally, time is of the essence: extinction operates at its own pace and without regard for human expositions. MTGET will be hard at work.
