Created in 2022 by & inspired by Garry Brent’s Homeskin & its unbounded blend of genres and influences, resulting in a split album, every graphic and sonic detail has been thought out and brought to life by Manic Dream Girl, who defines the project as “a melting pot of influences trying to challenge sonic norms and tropes. Voivod, Confessor, weird 90's death metal, 16-bit video game soundtracks, vocaloid music, and power pop are all baked into its ever-mutating DNA.”
A new chapter approaches, but for now: “Hypomanic Daydream will never shy away from the digital, the low, and the untrue. It'll never be shy about its blatant revelry in its queerness, transness, or communistness.” We’ll be there by her side!

Hypomanic Daydream was born In early 2022 when Manic Dream Girl was inspired by the short-lived Garry Brent project "Homeskin", particularly its unbounded blend of genres and influences. This inspiration blossomed into a split (Hypomanic Skin) with the very artist that inspired the foundation of Hypomanic Daydream.

Hypomanic Daydream is a melting pot of influences trying to challenge sonic norms and tropes. Influences such as Voivod, Confessor, weird 90's death metal, 16-bit video game soundtracks, vocaloid music, and power pop are all baked into the ever mutating DNA of Hypomanic Daydream.

Hypomanic Daydream will never shy away from the digital, the low, and the untrue. It'll never be shy about its blatant revelry in its queerness, transness, or communistness. This but the taxi and takeoff, there remain worlds to explore with Hypomanic Daydream.
