Anyone familiar with Fiadh knows we’ve been long-time supporters of instant-winter-vibes project This White Mountain, & Kevin has been super prolific over the past year! Our third release for June 9 is his latest full-length, Icons of the Melancholy 🗻
Apart from the Opeth & Agalloch-influenced melodic, atmospheric black metal you expect from TWM, there are darker death-like elements here with heavier undertones, which is balanced out by lighter moments & beautiful passages. Building upon The Final Sorrow & A Plague Upon the Earth (the latter which was co-released with Vita Detestabilis Records - copies of both are available from either label), Icons of the Melancholy shows us that TWM hasn’t yet reached its greatest heights - there’s much more to come.
